I've been on a bit of a binge lately with blog entries on faith and religion, perhaps because there's so much fun analysis that can be performed on them. My latest subject is contradictions in dogma and why fundamentalist thinking is incompatible with reality. In fact, I below present a proof that the Bible implies that unicorns exist.

I've been reading some heated arguments over homosexuality recently, and I am struck by the sheer quantity of fallacious arguments used by the homophobic contingent. Saying "If homosexuals were okay then they'd be able to breed" is like saying "If we aren't supposed to eat humans, why are they made of meat?" or "If God meant for us to walk around naked, we'd be born that way."

The first in a sporadic series called "Tear it Apart", wherein I ask folks to dissect a provocative argument or statement. I'm not interested in the issues involved, just the logic of the argument.
Yesterday I was watching a Stephen Colbert interview with Sam Harris, author of The End of Faith. Sam Harris made a very interesting statement regarding faith, and I thought I'd present it here in an altered form for folks to dissect:
